McHugh Furnishings was first founded by Joseph P. McHugh in 1878, bringing quality mission furniture to the NYC residential marketplace. Many historians believe that Joseph McHugh was the founder of mission furniture. Over the following years, the company morphed into commercial and educational markets. In 1943, the business moved into new markets and heights under the guidance of a young salesman named William Francis Mulhall. Since then, this family-run business has rapidly become the go-to provider of premium furnishings for a number of key market sectors.
